Queer Literature / Theory & Praxis
Queer Liberation Library
Queer literature and resources hosted through Libby. You only need an existing library card to have access. The con is that it is US only at this time. People from other regions can still browse, however, and request content through their local libraries.
The Trans Literature Database
A trans-run database that features books by trans people, about trans people, and for trans people. Includes fiction and non-fiction, novels, graphic novels, edited books, etc. There are convenient tags to use, a list of where to access each book, and there's even a service to borrow books by mail within the US.
Covid-19 Resources
Covid Safe Hotties
Queer/Trans run boards website that shares information on the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Resources include masking guidelines, studies on acute covid and long covid, clean air resources and studies, covid-related news. Also includes resources for Mpox, RSV, measles, and health alerts/recalls. US-based, but the information on masking and clean air, as well as the studies on covid, are all invaluable information to have.
The Sick Times
A journalist founded news site that chronicles the long covid crisis, as well as current events in the ongoing covid-19 pandemic.
The People's CDC
Created as a "watchdog" for the CDC. Attempts to fill the gaps that the CDC leaves open in terms of the response to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. Provides consultation to the public and government at how to better respond to covid-19. Make sure to check the resources page for more information on cleaner air, masking and covid-testing. The only con is that it's US-based, and therefore US-centric.
Resist Covid Eugenics
An informational website (hosted on carrd) that intersects with disability justice within the context of the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. There are different pages that outline the impacts of covid-19, explain the positive impacts of PPE (and where to find it!), and provide resources for education and distribution. As stated on their frontpage, the site is currently US-centric.
Anarchist Literature / Theory & Praxis
Decentralize!
An informational website (hosted on carrd) that prioritizes the importance of not relying on an oligopoly where corporations do not have the consumer in their best interest. The alternatives provided shift money and traffic away from corporations that sell your data, have unethical practices, and AI-scrape. If you're interested in data collection and remaining anonymous online, this is a good tool to start with.
The Anarchist Library
Many varied texts on anarchist theory and praxis. It's a constantly updated collection of texts with an okay search engine for your areas of personal interest! There is also a bookbuilder feature where you can make your own booklet. Texts range from short stories, to essays, to book chapters, etc. You can save things to PDF and store them wherever you store your PDFs.
AK Press
Anarchist publishing and distribution company that is anti-hierarchy and collectively run. The database features a ton of different topics ranging from anarchist history to prison abolition. Fiction and non-fiction inclusive, and offers order direct from the website.
